About COFA
The Central Ohio Flyers Association (COFA) was formed in 1966 and is incorporated as C.O.F.A., Inc. under the laws of the State of Ohio. We are an ownership-based flying club. That's right, we own all of our aircraft, so you won't be left without your favorite bird because the ownership decided to end a leaseback. Our membership ranges from beginning students to CFIIs and from newly rated instrument pilots to ATPs with years of experience.
Organization:
Elected board members from ownership group. Requires 1 year continuous membership to apply. Quarterly board and membership meetings, various flying events throughout the year including plane washes and hangar hangouts.
Maximum of 30 members
Board members and trustees elected from membership annually, 1-year membership required before eligible for board position
Cost breakdown:
One time buy-in : Variable equity-based share price, please see bylaws and Appendix A for current rates.
Monthly dues: $134.00 (changes periodically, set by the board)
No overnight or travel charges
Aircraft cost:
All charges are based on Tach time, not Hobbs for significant savings!
Wet-time costs vary based on fuel rates
Piper PA-28 - $49/hr dry,
Cessna 172M - $72/hr dry,
Cessna 182P - $81/hr dry,
Access to aircraft:
Maximum 2 over-weekend reservations per year, no additional maximum times
Maximum 3 reservations at a time, per aircraft
